Advans Banque Congo
Triodos Fair Share Fund and Triodos Microfinance Fund have provided a USD 1 million loan to Advans Banque Congo in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This full-fledged commercial bank opened its first branch in July 2009. Advans Banque Congo is part of Advans SA whose mission is to build a network of financial institutions in emerging countries, that offer straightforward and effective financial services, such as loans and deposits to micro, small, and middle-sized enterprises which have limited or no access to formal banking services.
Grameen Kota, India
Grameen Koota is primarily active in India’s southern state of Karnataka. Its core business is the provision of income generating group loans to women. Grameen Koota also offers loans for health care, education and recently started offering housings loans. Triodos Microfinance Fund and Triodos Fair Share Fund have provided an INR 500,000,000 loan (EUR 6 million) to Grameen Kota.
KOMIDA, Indonesia
Koperasi Mitra Dhu’afa (KOMIDA) is a cooperative based in Jakarta, Indonesia. KOMIDA focuses on the rural area which leads to 38% of their loan portfolio being in agricultural lending. They also provide loans for education and provide savings accounts to people who otherwise cannot access the traditional banking channels. Its areas of operations are spread beyond Java to Sulawesi and Aceh which are amongst the poorest regions of Indonesia. Hivos-Triodos Fund has provided KOMIDA with a loan of IDR 15.7 billion (approx. EUR 1 million).
Vitas Jordan
Vitas Jordan is a non-bank financial institution founded as the Middle East Micro Credit Company (MEMCC), which has been providing credit to the underserved communities of Jordan since 1998, and has become one of the largest microfinance institutions in the country. The institution offers a diverse selection of loan products, ranging from microloans for female entrepreneurs to medium-sized loans for factories that employ 10 people. Triodos Sustainable Finance Foundation has provided Vitas Jordan with a loan of JOD 705,000 (approx. EUR 750,000).
