The Triodos SRI funds (Triodos SICAV I) reached the historical mile stone of EUR 1 billion assets under management. These funds invest in stock listed companies that meet our strict sustainable criteria. They operate under the umbrella of Triodos SICAV I which consists of four sub funds: Triodos Sustainable Equity Fund, Triodos Sustainable Bond Fund, Triodos Sustainable Mixed Fund and Triodos Sustainable Pioneer Fund. The Triodos SRI funds are growing rapidly: at the end of 2012 the total volume was EUR 502 million. That means that in two years time the fund volume has doubled. The Triodos SRI funds are one of the six strategies of Triodos Investment Management, which has a total of EUR 2.4 billion assets under management.
Eric Holterhues, Head of SRI at Triodos Investment Management: ‘The ongoing growth of the Triodos SRI Funds is a clear sign of increasing interest in sustainable investing via listed companies. This is not only the case for Triodos Investment Management, but for the sector as a whole. Worldwide, investors are increasingly opting for meaningful and measurable impact results instead of mere financial results.’
According to the 6th Sustainable and Responsible Investment Study of Eurosif - the leading pan-European Sustainable and Responsible Investment (SRI) membership organization- all responsible investment strategies have grown at double-digit rates between 2011 and 2013. Growth rates range from 22.6% for sustainability themed investment strategies to 132% for Impact investing. This is clearly a much stronger growth than the broader European investment market.
Triodos Investment Management is very pleased with this trend, because it is of great added value for a transition towards a more sustainable society. Trough these investments it is possible to engage with listed companies in order to create awareness and motivate change towards a more sustainable organization.
