Asociación Aldea Global Jinotega (Aldea Global) was founded in 1992 to promote sustainable agricultural practices that would help protect the environment and improve the quality of life of smallholder coffee farmers in the Jinotega region in the north of Nicaragua.
The association was formalised by law in 1996 and registered with Fair Trade Labelling Organization in 2006. As of today, Aldea Global has matured into a company that successfully combines trading activities with credit services for its members.
